オーストラリアのレジストラー”CrazyDomains.com.au ”で登録してみました。
選んだ理由には、.com.auドメインが取得できることや、TLDドメインも安く取得できることがあります。
画面は平易な英語ですが、日本円で表示できるので、GoDaddyなどと似たような感覚で使えました。
登録するまで
他のレジストラーと同じく、欲しいドメインを検索して、アカウントを作るだけ。
一応、画像付きで手順を載せてみます。
1.まずは、”CrazyDomains.com.au ”へアクセスして、ドメイン検索
2. 欲しいドメインが見つかったら、Registerをクリック
3. Footer(画面下)から、通貨(日本円 JPY)を選ぶ。
4.余計なドメインが混じっていないか確認して、Check Out。
5. 名前・住所・連絡先などを入力。
Whoisに登録される基にもなります。
6.クーポンが適用になっているか確認して、Continue Order。
ひたすらContinue Order。
またまたContinue Order。
7. サーバーを借りないなら、またしてもContinue Order。
結構割安なんですが、わざわざここで登録しなくても…
8. ここで支払い情報を入力して終わりです。
支払いと領収書
支払いは、クレジットカード・PayPal
支払いは、クレジットカードか、PayPalです。
PayPalがおすすめですが、私はVISAにしました。
アメリカン・エキスプレスが使えるので、JALカード アメックスカード
なんかも使えるんですね!
この辺が、なんとなく海外のレジストラーらしさを感じます。
領収書が、豪ドルだった
その日のうちに、領収書をメール(PDF添付)で送ってくれます。
しかし、領収書に書かれているのはオーストラリア・ドル。
レートは、米ドルと大体同じですが、決済通貨なので仕方ない…
ちょっとしたトラブル(身分証提示)
あと、使っていてトラブルもありました。
使っていて、料金も支払ったのに、何故かName Serverを変更できない(~o~;)
と言うのは、要はセキュリティーに引っかかって止められていたというわけですが、やりとりも載せておきます。
1. fraud checkのメールが届く
登録して、16時間ほどで、fraud(詐欺)ではないか？という確認のメールがきました。
下に原文を載せていますが、
- 番号を隠して、クレジットカードの写真(コピー)を送れ
- 写真付きの身分証明書を送れ
- 48時間以内に、メールかFAXで。
という内容で、要は、珍しい外国(日本)からなので、盗まれたカード番号ではないか？と疑われているのでしょう。
そのため、身分証とクレジットカードの名前を照合するのだと思われます。

2. こんな感じで返信しました。
拙い英語ですが、
- Non-nativeなので、間違っていたらごめんなさい
- クレジットカードの写真を添付しました
- Photo Valid ID(写真付き身分証)は、学生証です。
こんな内容で送信しました。
身分証は、運転免許証や、パスポートだと、なんとなく嫌なので、万が一にも流出しても役に立たなそうな学生証にしました(笑)
あと、メールを送信すると、”We have received your email”というメールが送られてきて、Email Ticket ID (問い合わせ番号)が発行されます。
3. 翌日午前にResistedとなり、使えるようになった
メールの返信は来ませんでしたが、Registeredのメールが届きました。
もちろん、管理ページにアクセスすると、Name Serverも変更できるようになっていました。
結構、サポートが早かったので、日本と時差の少ないオーストラリアの魅力の1つかもしれません。

きちんとメールを送って、やりとりしてくれるのは安心できます。
